INCREASED MEMBERSHIP RECORD FOR SOME TIME (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, Oct. 20. A Ministry- of Labour return o', trade union membership at the close of 1937 puts the. total for Great Britain and Northern Ireland at 5.851.000, showing an increase of 546.000, or. nearly 10 per cent, on the membership at the end of 1936. The increase in membership is the largest recorded in any year since 1919.
