SUNDAY SERVICES

The services at Knox Church will be conducted by the Rev. D. C. Herron, M.A. In the evening past and present pupils of Columba College, together with members of Braemar House and Girton College Associations, will occupy the centre of the church. The Columba College choir will lead the singing. There will be a quartet, “ The Lord’s My Shepherd ” (Schubert).

“ Young People's Day ” will be conducted at First Church to-morrow by the Rev. W. Allen Stevely, M.A. >( Dip. Ed., whose subjects will be “ God's Adventurers ’’ in the morning, and in the evening “Venturing with Christ.” At the morning service the Sunday School children will sing the anthem “The Golden Age.” Miss Mavis Macdonald will be at the organ.

It will be young people’s day at St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church to-mor-row, when the Sunday School scholars will take part in the morning service. Parents are specially invited. At the evening service members of the Bible Class will assist. The preacher will be the Rev Thomas Miller, whose subject at the morning service will be God’s South Sea Adventurers,” and the subject in the evening “ Faith and its Heroes.”

At the Theosophical Society Mr R. McKenzie will conclude his series of talks on “The Message of the Wise Men," dealing especially with the phenomena of the atom.

Divine worship will be conducted at Trinity Methodist Church, Stuart street, to-morrow morning by the Rev. Dr. E. N. Morrington. There will be a solo-anthem, “ Seek ye the Lord.” the soloist being Dr Hugh Densem. and a solo, “ Out of the Deep I Call,” by Miss Joyce Reid. This service will be broadcast. In the evening Mr L. J. Greenberg will be the preacher and the choir will sing "Brother James's Air,”

and Mr W. Stevenson will sing “ O God of Mercy.” At the Maori Hill Presbyterian Church Fourth Sunday will 'be -observed to-morrow. The morning service, conducted by the Rev. A. C. W. Standage, will be attended by the Sunday School scholars, and parents are specially invited. The evening service will be taken by members of the Bible classes. There will be an afternoon service at Wakari. Dr J. M. Morey’s subject for to-mor-row evening at the Spiritualist Church, St. Andrew street, is “Man and his Destiny.” After the address he will give spiritual clairvoyant messages. The healing class will meet on Monday evening and the psychometry meeting will be held on Tuesday evening. The annual meeting will be held on October 26. “Praise in the Life of the Believer” will be the Rev. C. G. Hedley Bycroft’s morning subject at the United Congregational Church, Albany street, tomorrow. The evening subject will be "Can Man Reason with God?” Miss Doris Beck will be the soloist. The services at the Methodist Central Mission to-morrow will be conducted by the Rev. L. B. Neale. The morning service will be devoted entirely to communion. In the evening Mr Neale will take as his subject “ Discipleship,” and Mr J. Sutherland will be the soloist at this service. At the Salvation Army, self-denial altar services will be conducted. At 11 a.m. the subject will be “Righteousness.” Major and Mrs Balle leading, At 3 p.m. the Songster Brigade, under the baton of Leader W. Baylis, will rendered selected music, and at 7 p.m. the subject will be " God’s Gift to Mankind.” The speaker will be Adjutant A. Fletcher. Soldiers, friends and adherents will bring their personal gifts to the altar. Envoy and Mrs Glendining, of Wellington, will contribute a number of vocal duets during this day’s services. At 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. young people’s services will be lead by Y.P.S.M. Harford. The Rev. J. Ewen Simpson will con-

duct the services at the Hanover Street Baptist Church, speaking in the morning on “The World’s ‘Life of Christ,’” and in the evening on “ Baptism in the New Testament." A baptismal service will be conducted at the close of the evening service. The choir will render the anthem “Son of my Soul.” At the Greater World Spiritual Mission Mr F. Pearse. of London, will take for his subject “ Man and His Creator.” Clairvoyance and aftercircle will follow. The usual Wednesday circle will be held. At the Congregational Church, Moray place, to-morrow the Rev. J. H. Harris (late of the Clapton Congrega-. tional Church, England) will conduct both morning and evening services. At the evening service the choir will render the anthem “ O Christ Who Holds the Open Gate.” and Mr Donald Munro will sing “ Fear Not Ye. O Israel.”
