Lee writes in a book that “for years New Zealand has been at too great pains to suggest respectable origins,” he states what is an historical and incontrovertible fact. I have no doubt that he is, even at the present moment, softly gloating over the advertisement, free, gratis, and for nothing, that is being accorded his latest publication, and all because, in the heat and bustle of an election campaign, our Nationalist friends are suffering a bad attack of what the Americans term “ the jitters.”—l am etc..
