ARE YOU VALUE FOR MONEY?

Ladies (says Charles Gordon, in an article in “Woman") as long as we have money in our pockets we like to spend it on you. That’s honest. Even when there isn't any money there, and none in the bank, we still like raising the wind to take you out. But—and here's the probable explanation of why men are thought hard and tough—we do expect value for our money. Do you give it? Do you believe that if a man chooses to spend money on you, it’s his look-out whether he gets value for it or not? Do vou think that it’s “ not quite nice" of him to expect it? Do you consider that having men take you round and paying for your lunches dinner, theatres and dims is your due. regardless of what you do about it? I’m sorry to say that a lot of you do. But i’m glad to say that as far as this particular man is concerned you don’t get asked a second time You spend a quarter of your income on clothes, and vou insist on good

value. We spend a quarter of ours—if we’re single—on you. What about our money’s worth? If you think that a cold, dutiful peck on the way home is what we’re after, you’re very much mistaken. You’d better realise right away why a man is ready to spend money on you.

He’s ready to pay for your dinner and lots more besides, for all or any of the following reasons: Because you’re witty and he hopes you’ll amuse him.

Because you’re pretty and he likes to watch you being pretty.
