A practically new motor car owned by a well-known resident of Hastings was deliberately damaged while the owner was attending a meeting addressed by Mr G. A. Maddison, National candidate for Hawke's Bay. at the Parkvale School recently. The car was parked outside the school, and when the meeting was over the owner found the paintwork considerably disfigured by wholesale scratching, which was evidently done with sandpaper.
