TOWN HALL DANCE

Patrons of the popular Town Hall Dance are reminded that on Saturday, the night of the Ranfurly Shield challenge game, Otago v. Southland, the dance will be held in the Main Town Hall. The music will be supplied by Mr A. Swann’s band of eight players, the additional member of the band being- Mr Frank Beadle, a trombonist from Southland. The vocalist will be Mr James MacFarlane. All the heat winners in the 1938 Town Hall Dance championship are asked to be present to take part in a special demonstration. There will be hundreds of balloons, masks, paper hats, streamers, trumpets, tin whistles, and novelties of all kinds distributed free. Doors will be opened at 7 o’clock, and early patrons can dance to music supplied by Hogg’s cinetone sound system until 8 o’clock A special invitation has been extended to the members of the Otago and Southland teams. The circle will be open to spectators at a small charge. The right of admission is reserved.
