LENT TO NEW ZEALAND

BRITISH NAVAL OFFICER POST AT REPAIR YARD LONDON, Aug. 31. Captain H. M. Barnes, of the Royal Navy, has been lent to New Zealand for the newly-created post of captain superintendent of the naval repair yard at Auckland. Captain Barnes served in destroyers during the Great War, and was engaged in operations in the Dardanelles. He commanded destroyers after the war. He recently attended a senior officers’ course.
