TERRITORIAL PARADE

MARCH THROUGH CITY STREETS B BATTERY’S JUBILEE A parade of territorial units through the centre of the city will be held to-night as an introduction to the seventy-fifth anniversary celebrations of the 12th Field Battery (B Battery) which will be held next week. The parade, which will be headed by the 12th Battery, will be commanded by Lieu cenant-colonel J. M. Samson, whose staff officer will be Captain W. Pollard, R.N.Z.A., and the parade sergeant-major will be Staff-sergeant-major T. A. S. McKenzie, N.Z.P.S. The parade will give the members of the public an insight into the progress, that has been made in mechanising the forces, for both the 12th and the 14th (Medium) Batteries will use motor transport. These units will head the narade. and will be followed by. the Otago Mounted Rifles, the Trumpet and Bugle Band of the Otago Regiment, dismounted portions of the batteries. the Band of the Otago Regiment, and the Otago Regimental Depot. The route will lie along Princes and George streets to Hanover street, thence by way of Filleul street to St. Andrew street. Princes street, Lower Rattray street and Cumberland street, where the parade will be dismissed. A saluting base will be established at the Octagon, where the salute will be taken bv the Mayor (Mr A. H. Allen), with whom will be associated Colonel G. R. Mitchell, D. 5.0., V.D.. and Major A. Bongard, N.Z.S.C,
