EMBARGO ON IMPORTATION RUMOURS OF IMPENDING REMOVAL <From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, August 31. An inquiry whether it is the intention of the Government to remove'the embargo on the importation from Australia of stone fruits, particularly cherries, is made in a question of which Mr W. A. Bodkin (Opposition, Central Otago), in association with Mr K. J. Holyoake (Opposition, Motueka), gave notice in the House of Representatives dayMr Bodkin, whose question is addressed to the Minister of Marketing (Mr W. Nash), said that fruitgrowers were very much disturbed because of persistent rumours that the Government proposed to remove the embargo.
