AN OLD OFFENDER FINE OF £75 IMPOSED (Pek United Press Association) GISBORNE, Aug. 31. On a charge of using his premises as a common gaming house, Arthur Owen was fined £75. The police stated that between 1917 and 1935 Owen had been convicted 15 times for offences under the Gaming Act and had paid a total of £950 in fines. TWO BROTHERS IN COURT FINES TOTAL £25 <Peb United Press Association) GISBORNE, Aug. 31. Two brothers, James Grant and John Robertson Grant, appeared in the Police Court this afternoon on charges of using the premises occupied by them as a common gaming house. They were convicted and fined £25 between them and costs.
