THE MAUI POMARE
FAST RUN TO LYTTELTON MEMBER OF CREW INJURED (Per United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 28. Although she had previously advised that she would arrive at Lyttelton at daybreak on Monday, the Government motor ship Maui Pomare berthed at 9.30 p.m. to-night, her speed having been increased because a member of the crew, after an accident, needed medical attention. The injured man was the steward. L. Silvester, who lost his hold and fell down the companionway on Friday He was attended on arrival at Lyttelton by the port health officer, Mr CTH. Upham, who found him to be suffering from severe bruises and strain to the back and sides. He will be sent to the Christchurch Hospital to-morrow morning for an X-ray examination. The Maui Pomare had a rough trip on the latter part of the voyage, with very heavy seas.
