MR SCRIMGEOUR’S RESIGNATION CABINET’S ATTITUDE COMMENDED (Per United Press Association) GREYMOUTH, Aug. 14. At a well-attended meeting of the Westland branch of the Wellington-Nelson-Westland Labourers’ Union at Greymouth yesterday a resolution was carried unanimously congratulating the Prime Minister and the Cabinet on the non-acceptance of Mr Scrimgeour’s resignation and condemning the attitude adopted by the Opposition. A similar resolution was passed at a meeting of the Westport section. AUCKLAND, Aug. 13 A mass meeting of the Waterside Workers’ Union to-day passed a resolution urging the Government not to accept the resignation of Mr C. G. Scrimgeour.
