PROMINENT CHICAGO MAN BODY FOUND IN ALLEY CHICAGO, Aug. 13. (Received Aug. 14, at 6.50 p.m.) The fifth gangland killing within a week has taken place. The victim was Joseph Laporte, aged 27, who was a candidate for election as a State representative but who withdrew before the election. Three men alighted from a car and hustled Laporte into an alley. Shots were heard and the men drove away, leaving the body with five bullets in the head.
