GREAT PROSPECTS
NEW GUINEA'S BRIGHT FUTURE RELATIVELY UNDEVELOPED BRISBANE, Aug. 12. (Received Aug. 13, at 0.30 a.m.) A great future is predicted for New Guinea by Mr J. Kruttschnitt, chairman of New Guinea Goldfields. Ltd. He said New Guinea proper, apart from goldmining, is relatively undeveloped. The country offered great prospects for the lumber industry, rubber, coffee and copra, but road transportation facilities rryust be provided without delay. He was convinced that air transport would be inadequate and far too expensive.
