SUPREME COURT

WELLINGTON SESSIONS PRISONERS SENTENCED (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 16. The following prisoners were sentenced by Mr Justice Quilliam today:— , , James McGown, aged 32, a labourer, was fined £lO for failing to stop after an accident in Taita Gorge. Ronald Ivor Ellison, aged 20, a messenger, was given two years' probation for unlawful carnal knowledge at Wellington. Leonard Cyril Ferguson, aged J 6, a ship’s fireman, was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment with hard labour for breaking, entering, and theft, and 12 months on each of three charges of theft at Nelson, all the sentences to be served concurrently. Noel Samuel Bethell, aged 28. a farm labourer, was given three years’ probation for committing bigamy at Hastings.
