RUGBY LEAGUE
THE NEW ZEALAND TEAM POOR DISPLAY AT LISMORE SYDNEY, June 15 (Received June 15, at 11.30 p.m.) Failing in tactics and handling, the New Zealand Rugby League tourists managed to score only 32 to 2 against the poor country opposition of a far North Coast team at Lismore to-day. Two thousand people watched the match A wet, soggy ground precluded bright back play, and with a drizzle in the first half the ball was like greased glass but there was no wind. The New Zealand team was;—J Smith. Brown, Midgley, Tittleton, McNeil, W Brimble, Grotte, Anderson Gault. Glynn. Satherley Coote? and Herring. Lack of enterprise, failure to penetrate and lack of devil among the forwards whose offside tactics resulted in many penalties, marred the game. Only sound tackling by Smith stopped the home side from scoring tries. The scorers for New Zealand were Brimble, Anderson, Tittleton, Brown and Grotte. Smith converted four. For the Coast O’Connor kicked a penally goal
