LINESMAN ELECTROCUTED
WELL-KNOWN FOOTBALLER BROTHER OF DR E. R. HARTY (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, June 3. The linesman Rupert Leslie Harty, who was electrocuted by accidentally touching a high-power cable at Blenheim on Tuesday, was formerly a wellknown Rugby player. When the first Springbok team visited New Zealand in 1921, he was a representative of the King Country team which met the 3"'Uh Africans at Hamilton. Born in Wellington 42 years ago. Mr Harty was a son of the late Mr J. K. Hartv and Mrs A. C Harty who is now a resident of Devonport. For a number of years he was engaged in sheep farming with his brother. Mr W. R. Harty, on Honikiwi, 15 miles west of Otorohanga. and his brother still farms the property there. Two other brothers, who were also prominent sportsmen, also survive him. They are Dr E. R. Harty. of Dunedin, and Mr L. P. Harty, of Taumarunui.
