IMPERIAL EX-SERVICEMEN

ANNUAL SMOKE CONCERT The Imperial ex-servicemen’s annual smoke concert was held on Saturday, the president (Mr J. McKnight) occupying the chair. The guests, who included representatives of kindred societies, were played in by Piper McVean. “ The Last Post ” and the reveille were sounded, and all branches of the services were represented. The toasts proposed were: ” The King," Mr J. McKnight; “ Fallen Comrades,” “ Returned Soldiers’ Association,” and “ Kindred Associations,” Mr J. Bishop; ’’ Montecillo Home,” Mr Roebuck; ‘‘Scottish Societies.” Mr T. Ramsay After supper the following items were rendered: —Mr J. McKnight, song: Mr R. Leslie, song: Mr J. Bishop, songs; Mr Nelson, accordion solo; Piper M!cVean, pipe selection; Mr Pybus, song; Mr Ramsay, story; Mr Holmes, song; Mr Hunter, humorous items; Mr Abbot, humorous items; Mr Watts, songs; Mr Kellet, humorous items; Mr Lowther, song: Mr Bevan song: Mr Vorley, song; Mr Johnston, song; Mr MicGrogan, song; Mr Hannah, song: Mr King, song: Mr Roberts, pianoforte solo.
