The half-yearly meeting of Royal Oak Lodge was held on Monday night, A.D. Bro. L, McKeich prfesiding over a fair attendance ,of members and visitors. D.P. Bro, Smaill was in attendance in his official capacity and received a warm welcome. Sick pay amounting to £2l was passed for payment. Ttye election of officers for the ensuing term resulted as follows: —A.D., Bro. W. Hudson; V.A., Bro. R. B, Middlemiss; treasurer, Bro. A. Mitchell; M C., Bro. A. E. Churchill; min. sec.-, Bro. W. R. Hudson; A.D. bards, Bros. H. Rackley and J Johnston; 0.G.; Bro. G. F. Murray; V.A. bards, Bros. L. Popham and P. J. Heaney; audi* tors, Bros. W.. Hudson and'J. Johnston. Considerable discussion took place on the question of the juvenile lodges and a plan was adopted to ensure increased support by adujt members. The report of the Friendly Societies’ Dispensary also_ received lengthy consideration, and it was decided to leave the matter to the discretion of the representatives. One proposition for membership was rer ceived. Bros. Le Brun (Pride ,pf Mornington), Harris (Enterprise), Metcalfe (Bay), and H. Hinton (Alexandra) replied to the coast of “The Visitors.” Next lodge night, the King’s Birthday, no meeting will be held. _ The half-yearly meeting of the Lily of the Valley Lodge, No. 11, U.A.0.D., was held on Wednesday in the Albany Street Hall. A.D. Bro. R. Morris presided over a fair attendance of officers and members. Visitors were D.P. Bro. C. Wilson, of No. 1 District, Secretary H. Brockie and PA Bro. W. Brockie, of Ivanhqe Lodge. The bards’ report was received and sick pay amounting to £7 13s 4d was passed for payment. The election of officers resulted as follows:—J.P.A., Bro. F. Rishworth, arch druid, Bro. R. Morns; V.A. druid, Bro. A. Aitken; treas., Bro. N. Ingle; M.C., Bro. R. Carr; LG., Bro. Townsend; 0.G., Bro. Murphy A ; D ; bards, Bros. H. Wmterand T. Moore, V.A. bards, Bros. I. Powell and R. F. Connell; pianist, Bro. A. Fowler, auditors, P.G.P. Bro. A. Walker ahd P.D.P. Bro. J. T. Faulds. At the last quarterly meeting of Ivanhoe Lodge, Arch Druid Bro. . Brockie was welcomed by a good attendance of members. D.P. Bro. C Wilson attended officially, included in the correspondence was a letter from P.G.P. Bro. Ruston regarding the proposed visit to Alexandra. One new member Was initiated into the Order, the RossStewart Shield team performing the ceremony. The annual report of the U.F.S. Dispensary Committee was received and the clause regarding the rebuilding scheme was discussed at some length and the delegates were instructed to vote in its favour. In the nomination and election of officers the following were elected to occupy the various chairs excepting that of V.A.B.’s, which was held over until the next meeting.—A.D., Bro. Bird; V.A., Bro. Sinclair and A. Cannon. - The fortnightly meeting of the Progress Juvenile Lodge was held on Wednesday. P.A. Bro. opened the lodge and was greeted by a good attendance of members. Correspondence was read from the Juvenile Council. The Bards report disclosed that one brother was still in hospital, but improving. It was decided to hold another ritual competition on Wednesday, June 15, the superintendent to post a copy to each boy entering for the competition. The lodge was entertained by a company of Boy Scouts and under Bro. A. Shanks a demonstration of tower building, flag signalling, and various games were carried out.
