UNCERTAIN OUTLOOK The following is the official weather forecast: — Pressure is rather low over the whole Tasman Sea and New Zealand area owing to the passage of a series of rather shallow westerly depressions. Indications are for: — Winds. North - westerlies predominating in eastern districts, and elsewhere north-west to south-west; force mainly light to fresh, but increasing at times about and south of Cook Strait. Seas. —New Zealand waters: Rather rough to rough in the Cook and Foveaux strait areas; elsewhere slight to moderate, but occasionally rising somewhat on the west coast. Light rain fell during the day. the wind being light and variable. The maximum temperature was 64 degrees. The barometric pressure fell slightly, the reading at 5 p.m. being 29.70 m. WELLINGTON, May 30. The weather to-day was cloudy to overcast, but otherwise fine and mud with a light north-westerly breeze.
