OLD GIRLS IN LONDON
WAITAKI HIGH SCHOOL (From Oub Own Correspondent) (By Air Mail) LONDON, May 11. On May 9, ox-girls of the Waitaki Girls’ High School. Oamaru, met in London, in the India room of the Royal Empire Society's building, to mark the occasion of the jubilee of the school, which was being celebrated in New Zealand at the same time. Lady Rankine presided over a gathering representative of various years of the school’s life. A cabled message of greeting and congratulation was sent to the jubilee gathering in Oamaru. Cordial greetings were received from the London branch of the Waitaki Old Boys’ Association, and from Mrs T W. Cane, Mrs R. N. Shand, Mrs W M. Barron. Miss J. G. Hall, and Miss M. W. Tail who were unable to be present. The gathering was friendly and informal, and many reminiscences of school days were exchanged during afternoon tea. Those present were Lady Rankine, Mrs Farquhar, Mrs R. S. Forsyth, Mrs R. Milligan, Miss M. E. Grant, Mrs E. Goldsworthy. Miss J. Farquhar, Mrs Sowdon, Mrs Patrick, Miss D. Craig, and Miss D. Burton, who are ex-pupils, and Mrs Kenneth McAdam and Miss M. S. Fitzgerald.
