SUSTENANCE FRAUDS

CHARGE OF FALSE PRETENCES FINE OF £ls IMPOSED (Per United Press Association) ' NEW PLYMOUTH, May 30. Sustenance money was obtained byNorman Patrick Kinsella to repay money previously obtained by fraud. Kinsella was fined £ls to-day by Mr W. H. Woodward, S.M. The department did not prosecute Kinsella for the earlier frauds, but arranged with him for repayment by small sums weekly. Kinsella continued to make false statements, and obtained further sums. In (he meantime he reduced “ the debt to the department ” from over £7 to a few shillings. Kinsella pleaded guilty to several charges of making false statements and to one of false pretences. It was on the last charge that he was fined £ls,
