SPORTS CARNIVAL

The Sports Carnival Committee has arrangements well in hand for the carnival to be held in the old Post Office, Dowling street from June 4-11. Sub-committeet: have been formed to look after the various amusements, and the entries for the sports teams' tug-of-war competition will close at the Office of the Otago Football Association on Thursday at 8 p.m. Each Rugby, Association football, and hockey club has been asked to enter a lightweight and a heavy-weight team. The Women's and Men's Hockey Associations and the Football Association were unfortunate last year in having so much wet weather to contend with. This years the Women's Hockey Association has an English team visiting Dunedin, and the Men's Association an Indian team to meet. It is hoped that this carnival will provide for these events.
