"MASS PSYCHOLOGY AND WAR"
K) rut i:i>n on Sir.—May 1 congratulalc the Daily Times on to-day's leading article entitled "Mass Psychology and War,' which deals with the dangerous effects of erroneous and exaggerated " war talk." I especially liked the part starting " Cut from your vocabulary such expressions as the inevitability of war." I think these are the feelings ol most of us. but, unfortunately there seem to be certain members of the community, most of whom having had soft jobs in the last war and now being ton old and decrepit to fight, appear somewhat over-eager to get the vounu men of New Zealand embroiled in another war. Thev take a delight in prophesying the absolute inevitability of war in the immediate future, and full of ignorance and stupidity, apparently look forward with pleasure to the appalling disasters that such n war will mo?;t certainly bring These people are as dangerous to public welfare as if they walked round scattering the germs of smallnox, and should be dealt with accordingly.— l am, etc., Less War Talk Dunedin.
