FORTY PETITIONS HEARD COMMENT BY MR JUSTICE CALLAN (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND. May 27. "There is great competition to be divorced among some people," remarked Mr Justice Callan, in the Sunreme Court during the hearing of 40 petitions in divorce "You are not going to teli me you watched the house from midnight until 8 o'clock?" his Honor asked Donald Gordon Mackie. who sought a divorce on the grounds of adultery. 'Yes,'' replied the petitioner, who in evidence had stated that he and two others watched the house and saw the co-respondent come out after A a.m. ■ "You have earned your divorce," commented the judge, granting a decree nisi.
