LINESMAN’S DEATH

FATAL SHOCK RECEIVED (Per United Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, May 20. Nelson Tuck, aged 31 years, died as the result of electric shock. He was a linesman employed by the New Plymouth Borough Council. He had two children, and his wife is still in the maternity hospital with the youngest child. , , Tuck, with other members of the statl, was working on the lines at Vogeltown. He climbed a pole to cut off the power to facilitate the work, and signalled that the power had been disconnected. Then there was a flash as though of a short circuit, and Tuck fell backwards to the ground, probably receiving a severe injury in the fall. He was taken to hospital in an ambulance and died soon afterwards. This is the second fatal accident in similar circumstances on the same staff within a few months.
