RUGBY LEAGUE
CANTERBURY’S REQUEST DECLINED (Per United Press association) AUCKLAND, May 19. The request of the Canterbury Rugby League for a further trial match next Wednesday with a view to selecting the New Zealand team to tour Australia was declined by the New Zealand Rugby League at a meeting this evening. The New Zealand team will be announced on Saturday night.
