General Crs Henderson (chairman), Borrie, Walls. Smith, Munro and McMillan. Reserves Crs Munro (chairman), Henderson, Borrie, Wails, Smith and McMillan. Library Crs Borrfe (chairman), Henderjbh. Drainage Board Representatives on the Dunedin Drainage and Sewerage Board were appointed as follows: The Mayor, Crs Wilson, Munro, McCrae, Taverner, Shepherd, Smith, Henderson, Cameron and Gibson. Formal resolutions authorising the members of the Finance Committee to operate on the council's bank account were passed, and it was decided that the first ordinary meeting of the council should be held on Monday,. June 6. The Mayor's Honorarium The Mayor vacated the chair in favour of Cr Cameron while the subject of his honorarium was being considered. There was no discussion on the matter. On the motion of Cr Munro, the amount was fixed at £SOO, the same as for the past three years. On the nomination of the Mayor, Cr Cameron was appointed Deputy Mayor. Divine Service An invitation from St. Paul's Cathedral for the Mayor and councillors to attend divine service on Sunday, May 22, was accepted. The Mayor stated that it was the custom for a newly-elected! Mayor to invite the council to attfid his church on taking office. The idea had its origin in old English and Scottish usage.
