QUEENSLAND OPEN TITLE BRILLIANT WIN BY FERRIER BRISBANE, May 18. (Received May 18, at 10.5 p.m.) With a course record of 69 in a brilliant last round, Jim Ferrier won the Queensland open golf championship with an aggregate for four rounds of 284. He finished four under fours. A Queenslander, V. Walker, was runner-up with 299. The titleholder, N. von Nida, was third with 301. BRITISH WOMEN'S TITLE DEFEAT OF CHAMPION LONDON, May 17. In the British Women's Golf Championship at Burnham, in the third round, Mrs Peel defeated the champion, Miss Jessie Anderson, 1 up; and Miss Tiernan defeated a former champion, Miss Pam Barton, 5 and 3.
