HINTS AND SUGGESTIONS
Old woollen gauntlet gloves make excellent kettle holders. Cut off the gauntlet cuff—which is usually as good as new—at the wrist, pad it and oversew the tops and bottoms. Sew a curtain ring on one corner so that it can be hung up.
If any acid from a v/ireless accumulator has been spilt on a carpet or tablecloth, cover it immediately with milk. This will prevent a hole being burnt.
A double coathanger is a useful gadget for drying collars, handkerchiefs, socks, etc. Hung on the mantelpiece, it can easily be turned round.
To renovate a pair of gloves, tight at the wrist, cut up the seam just above the wrist, and insert a gusset of cloth to match your suit.
Sew the halves of about six pressstuds to the hem of your dance frock on the wrong side, and sew the corresponding halves to the inside of your coat a little higher than the hem. Then fasten the press-studs and your dress won't get dirty or wet when it's raining.
