A. and P. Association The fifty-fifth annual meeting of the Waimate A. and P. Association was held on Friday, Mr J. Dempsey, in the absence of the president (Mr H. J. C. Harper) presiding over an attendance of 18. The year opened with a cash balance in hand of £216 17s Bd, and after the expenditure of £79 7s 2d on permanent improvements and £lO Os 8d in repairs to building and plant, closed with a credit of £lB5 4s 3d. The balance sheet also showed the accumulated fund to stand at £2021 5s lid. The annual report and balance sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President. Mr J. Dempsey: vice-president, Mr T. G. W. Hamilton; hon. treasurer. Mr D. T. Larnach; auditor, Mr R. F. Algie; committee—Messrs H. J. C. Harper. F. G. Brown, A. W. Burnett, J. M. Bruce. E. C. d’Auvergne, J. C. Faulkner. T. Hamilton, J. C. Hay, E. G. Hay, N. H. Hayman, J. H. Hodgen, H. B. L. Johnstone, J. H. Milne, D. Macdonald, A. Medlicott, M. Mcßae, J. Mcßae, N. A. Rattray, R. A vote of thanks was passed to the retiring president. On the motion of Mr Rattray, a vote of thanks was passed to Mr J. T. Hay for his services to the association over a number of years, and the secretary was instructed to forward a letter of appreciation. Arno Rifle Club The Arno Miniature Ride Club held its annual meeting in the Arno Hall recently, the following officers being elected: —President. Mr E. C. Wright; vice-president. Mr J. Campbell; secretary and treasurer. Mr F. Trott; assistant secretary, Mr G. Thomas; patrons—Messrs H. McKenzie, sen., G. W. Hossack, A. Gorman. G. McCulloch, C. Olorenshaw; captain. Mr J. Campbell; handicapper, Mr H. W. McKenzie; target tester, Mr J. P. McGovern; assistant target tester. Mr N. McKenzie; armourer. Mr J. McDonald; assistant armourer, Mr M. Olorenshaw: range officers and ammunition. Messrs G. McKenzie and D. Ponsonby; delegates to Waimate District Miniature Rifle Club Association, Messrs E. C. Wright and F. Trott. Acclimatisation Society Thirteen nominations have been received for 12 vacancies on the council of the Waimate Acclimatisation Society. The nominations closed at 5 p.m on Friday. The candidates are as follows;—Sitting members—Messi’s G. S. Foord, George Kilworth, F. Pollock, J. Hutt, F. Nash. A. Higgins, W. D. Paterson, N. Mines, and S, Cox; new candidates—Messrs C. Coventry, Thomas Keillor, L. Mann, and D. J. Knowles.
