WOMEN’S GOLF

DOMINION COMPETITION INVERCARGILL PLAYER SUCCESSFUL (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND. May 16. Mrs J. A. Pottinger. Invercargill, with a card of 85 —15—70, this being five under the scratch score for the course, was the winner of the Home Links Coronation Medal Competition played throughout the Dominion during the first week in May by women players with handicaps up to 18. The contest was held under the control of the New Zealand Ladies’ Golf Union. Mrs D. W. Robinson. Queen’s Park, with a score of 86 —16 —7O, was also five under scratch, but lost on the recount over the last nine holes. The Ao-tea-roa Cup, which was played in conjunction with the Coronation Medal event, but which is open to all players wdth Ladies’ Golf Union handicaps, was also won by an Invercargill player. Mrs E. E. Broad, her card reading 93—26 —67, this being eight under scratch. Other good cards returned were as follows (scratch scores being given in parentheses):—Mrs Minson, Rawhiti, 93—27—66 (73); Mrs E.
