CRASH IN FLAMES
AN AIR FORCE BOMBER CIVILIAN OBSERVER KILLED NEW ZEALANDER ESCAPES (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, May 14. (Received May 15, at 10.30 p.m.) A Vickers Wellesley bomber, believed to be one of those intended for the attempt on the Australian record, became ablaze in mid air while being tested at Bristol. A New Zealander, Flight-lieuienant C. A. Fisher, parachuted to safety two miles distant, but- a civilian observer was killed in the crash.
