THE CHESTERFIELD DISASTER NEW ZEALAND’S SYMPATHY (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 4. The Governor-General, Viscount Galway, has telegraphed to the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs in London as follows: — “ The Government and people of New Zealand have been shocked by the disaster in Chesterfield colliery and the grievous loss of life involved. They desire that their deep sympathy should be conveyed to the bereaved relatives and to the injured miners.”
