BARCELONA BOMBED AT NIGHT MOONLIGHT ASSISTS RAIDERS HEAVY CASUALTIES FEARED (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) BARCELONA, May 14. (Received May 15, at 10 p.m.) Nationalist warplanes raided Barcelona at midnight. dropping hundreds of bombs. A complete “ black-out ’’ had been enforced, but brilliant moonlight enabled the planes to pick out targets. The casualties are believed to be extremely heavy. There was a further raid later, lasting 15 minutes. A bomb set fire to the British merchantman Euphorbia, wounding the master and the mate A RAID ON VALENCIA BRITISH VESSEL SUNK VALENCIA, May 14. (Received May 15, at 10 p.m.) Twenty people were killed and 38 injured in a midnight air raid. A bomb sank the British steamer Created, which was being repaired, after having been damaged on May 9.
