(Received May 15, at 5.5 p.m.) The Board of Trade returns for April shows imports for the month totalled £73,679,670, the exports £37,260,307 and the re-exports £5,010,521. In April. 1937, the comparable figures were:—lmports £83,004,322, exports £43,027,231, reexports £7,274,487 All three totals for the month of April—imports, exports, and re-exports—-are the lowest so far recorded this year, although the exports and imports totals are distinctly higher than April, 1936.
