OFFICIAL FORECAST FAIR TO CLOUDY The following is the official weath*T forecast:— High pressure still prevails over New Zealand. A northern extension of the. slight depression which passed in the south on Saturday night was situated yesterday afternoon just north of Cook Strait. Indications are for:— Winds.—Light to moderate, but variable, with westerly to south-westerly prevailing at first and gradually tending to north-westerly over the South Island. Seas.—New Zealand waters: Slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate variable winds, northerly to westerly predominating; seas slight to moderate. Weather.—For the most part fair to cloudy, but some scattered light rain probable, more especially in eastern and northern districts in the North Island; temperatures mild. WEATHER IN DUNEDIN The weather on Saturday was mild, with practically no wind. The sky was overcast for most of the day, and the temperature reached a maximum of 64 degrees. The barometer fell in the morning, but rose later to 30.20 inches. After a few light showers in the morning the weather cleared yesterday, the afternoon being bright and sunny, with only occasional cloud. There was a light south-westerly breeze, and the maximum temperature was 62 degrees. The barometer remained high in ‘the vicinity of 30.30 inches. May 5, Generally fine and sunny weather with fairly cool temperatures was experienced at the week-end. The wind was light from the south to the southwest. The maximum temperature was 65 degrees. The barometric pressure was high, with a slight falling tendency, the reading at 5 p.m. to-day being 30.34 inches. WELLINGTON. May 15. The weather yesterday was overcast and threatening early, but it rapidly improved, and was beautifully fine in the afternoon. The temperature was mild, with a fresh north-westerly wind. The maximum temperature was 61.2 degrees, and the minimum on Saturday night was 53.9 degrees. To-day was overcast, and light rain fell at intervals throughout the day. A light northerly wind prevailed in the morning, changing to a southerly in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 63.2 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH, May 15.
