THE FORBURY PARK TROTTING MEETING
TO THE EDITOR Sir,—l was a visitor to the Forbury Park meeting to-day , (Thursday). I had selected one horse out of the eight events, and that horse was Golden Moness, On going to make my investment on the outside machine. I was disappointed to see that No. 8 (Golden Moness) was scratched. I then decided to place my money on Diversion, No. 2, and, having done so, went to the grand stand to sit down and watch the race. Now, Sir, I would like to know how long it was after the totalisator was opened for this race that the scratching ticket was removed and the horse’s name (Golden Moness) placed in that space.—l am, etc., J. A. R.
[The secretary of the Forbury Park Trotting Club states that Golden Moness (No. 8) was shown as a starter on both boards. It is suggested that “J. A. R.” must have looked at the board before the riders and scratchings were posted for the seventh race, as No. 8 was scratched in the sixth race.—Ed. O.D.T.]
