PALMERSTON Fall From Bicycle Fred Lowen, aged 14 years, son of Mr F. W. Lowen, Pleasant Valley, met with an accident late on Thursday afternoon. He had just reached the main highway after descending the Mount Royal Hill on his bicycle when the machine apparently skidded, throwing the boy on to the hard bitumen surface. Messrs W. Thompson and C. Hope found the boy in an unconscious condition, and bleeding badly, and conveyed him in their lorry to Dr Thomas’s surgery, where an examination disclosed that he had received severe facial and head injuries. Later in the evening the boy had recovered sufficiently to permit his removal to his parents’ home, where it is understood he is making satisfactory progress.
