Jones, of Hastings, during his address at the Hastings Rotary Club recently, when sspeaking of his recent visit to the. Cook Islands, At Rarotonga he interested himself in the schools, and at one school he asked that he be allowed to make a gift. To his surprise it was suggested that his gift take the form of a Rugby football. “ They had never had a Rugby football, and thought it would be wonderful to possess one,” he said. “ I was successful in obtaining one, and duly presented it to the school. Some three weeks later when I made another visit to the school there was that football, if you please, displayed prominently In a glass case: it was something brecious, and to be used only on ■pedal occasions,"
