HALIFAX AND NEPIA

CLAIM AGAINST NEW ZEALAND LEAGUE FAILS

(From Our Own Correspondent) (By Air Mail) LONDON, Apl. 23,

Because Halifax could not produce a signed agreement with the player, the General Purposes Committee of the Rugby League, meeting at Manchester this week, found that the club’s claim against the New Zealand League for £2OO concerning Nepia had failed.

Halifax claimed against the New Zealand League by way of a levy imposed by an agreement of 1931 upon all registered players leaving one country to play in the other. Nepia came to England to play for Slrealham and Mitcham, and was afterwards transferred to Halifax, who contended that Nepia, who is now again playing football in New Zealand. did not complete his contract.
