DUNEDIN HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY

DISPLAY OF BLOOMS Yesterday a steady stream of visitors was again attracted to the annual winter show conducted by the Dunedin Horticultural Society, and the striking display of autumn and winter blooms was the subject of much favourable comment. The stall on which was shown the many fine products manufactured at the Montecijlo Red Cross Home was also the centre of much interest. Since the opening of the show an exhibit of 60 chrysanthemum seedlings were forwarded for exhibition by Mr A K, Watson, of Otahuna, gardener to Sir Heaton Rhodes. These seedlings are as yet unnamed. and the exhibit contained some beautiful flowers Bronze and autumn tints predominated, relieved by some magnificent deep veilows and pure whites Two awards were incorrectly made on the opening day and should have been as follows:—

Competition No. 13 (Comprehensive Chrysanthemum Display).—H. S. Hungerford 1. J. Masson 2. Competition No. 21 (Twelve Varieties Japanese Chrysanthemum).—W. Maxwell i T Masson 2.
