OTAGO LAND BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Otago Land Board was held yesterday, and was attended by Messrs F. H. Waters (chairman), C. J. Inder, D. J. Ross, J. S. Adams, and G. W. Stuart. PERMISSION TO OCCUPY The commissioner submitted for con*ideration the application of the Molyneux River Gold Dredging Company, Ltd., for permission to occupy section 55, block XXIII, Town of Clyde. A year to year right to occupy was granted at an annual rental of £2, as from May 11. The commissioner submitted for consideration the application of David Dunn for permission to occupy part section 15, block XIV, Pomahaka Downs Settlement, area 53a Ir OOp.— A year to year right to occupy was granted at an annual rental of £ 1 10s. W. Cullen applied for permission to occupy allotment 21, Shag Point, being part of block 111. Moercki. S.D. (27p). —Granted a right to occupy allotment 21 from year to year in terms of section 147 of the Land Act, 1924, at an annual rental of 10s from May 11. Andrew William Homer applied for permission to occupy section 8, block XXVIII, Town of Havelock, and section 10, block V. Waitrhuna Ea t. S.D. (10a 3r lip), being area at present held under mrctllaneous licence by A. V. Bacon. —Miscellaneous licence 3787 cancelled and permission granted to A. W. Homer to occupy sections 8 and 10 from year to year in terms of section 147 of the Land Act. 1924. at rn annual rental of £1 14s from February 3. William James Lobb applied for permission to occupy section 14, block VI, Naseby. S.D. (IGa 2r 04p), being area held undr miscellaneous licence by George Allison.—Held over. Hugh Charles Halford applied for permission to occupy section 13, block IX, Town of Hull (17.7 p), being area at present held under miscellaneous licence by George H. R. lies. —Miscellaneous licence 2531 cancelled and permission granted to H. C. Halford to occupy section 13 from year to year in terms of section 147 of the Land Act, ,1924, at an annual rental of £1 from Mry 13. ALTERATION IN COMMITTEE D. H. Marwick, secretary of the Island? Committee over island? in the Waitaki River and bed of river from its outlet to Bennetts Crossing at th? old ferry (lower Papakaio portion), advises that he had left the district and no longer wished to be a member of the committee.—lt was resolved to substitute S. The commissioner submitted for consideration the question of the cancellation of miscellaneous licence 2874, held by Frances M. Cameron over part section 20 and adjoining area, block V, Kurow S.D., 56 acres.—Miscellaneous licence 2874 cancelled as from June 7, the area being offered for selection on permanent tenure. The commissioner submitted for consideration the question of cancellation of miscellaneous licence 1272, held by A. H. McKinnon over an area adjoining section 7. block V, Kurow S.D., 15 acres approximately.—Miscellaneous licence 1272 cancelled as from June 7, the area being, offered for selection on permanent tenure. The commissioner submitted for consideration the question of cancelling miscellaneous licence No. 3944 at present held by Robert Riddle over part reserve opposite and area adjoining section 47, block VIII. Dunedin and East Taieri (9 acres). —Left in the hands of the commissioner of Crown lands. RJNEWAL OF EDUCATION , RESERVE LEASE The commissioner submitted the case pf J. McFadzien, section 20, block V, Maungatua S.D. (29a 3r Up), in order that, the board might note the lessee’s acceptance of the renewal.— Acceptance noted. The commissioner submitted the case of W. Chisholm.—lt was resolved that lessee be offered a renewal lease under section 22 of the .Education Reserves Act. 1928, and section 5 (e) of the Public Bodies Leases Act, 1908, for a term of 21 years from July 1 next. EXPIRY OF EDUCATION RESERVE LEASE The commissionei submitted for the consideration of the board the expiry of E.R. lease No. 1971, covering sections .11, block V. and 9, block 11, town of Hampden, at present held in the name of J. Morgan, deceased.—lt was resolved that sections 9 and 11 be offered at auction on separate leases at annual rentals of 10s and 7s 6d respectively, for a term of 21 years from July, 1 next, under the provisions of section 22 of the Education Reserves Act, 19 n 8 and section 5 (e) of the Public Bod cs Leases Act. 1908. Murphy for a renewable lease over section 40, block XII. town of Ranfurly (39.7 poles).—Granted, The commissioner submitted for consideration the application of William Sutherland for a mining district land occupation lease of section 49. block 11, Bannockburn S.D (area Ir 02p).— Mining district land occupation lease granted at an annual rental of 10s. EXPIRY AND RENEWAL The matter of the expiry of miscellaneous licence No. 2864, held by A. V Young, over section 9, block I, township of Mornington (22.9 p), was submitted to the board in order that the lessee’s acceptance might be noted. —Acceptance noted. FORFEITURE The commissioner submitted for consideration the question of forfeiting the renewable lease held by W. J. Gallagher over section 108. block 11, Tiger Hill S.D.
