A series of slight westerly disturbances is moving across the South Tasman Sea and southern New Zealand. Indications are for:— Winds.—Light south-easterlies over the northern half of the North Island and turning gradually to north-easter-lies; elsewhere northerlies to northwesterlies prevailing, strong at times in the far south, and elsewhere light but freshening. Seas.—New Zealand waters: Rather rough to rough about Foveaux Strait; elsewhere slight to moderate. Weather.— Cloudy to overcast in western and southern districts of the South Island, with scattered rains in southern Westland and Otago and Southland; elsewhere fair to fine, with milder day but cold night temperatures.
