GUILTY OF THEFT

COMPANY DIRECTOR IN COURT CONVICTED ON THREE COUNTS Leonard Chalmers Young, whose trial on six charges of misappropriation of funds, or alternatively, theft, had occupied the Supreme Court for two days, was yesterday found guilty on three charges of theft. His Honor Mr Justice Kennedy was on the Bench and the jury returned with its verdict after a retirement of 90 minutes. Mr F. B. Adams (Crown Prosecutor) conducted the case for the Crown and the accused was represented by Mr O. G. Stevens. Young was remanded in custody until Tuesday, when he will be sentenced. The accused for convicted on the second., fourth, and sixth counts, which were that he fraudulently omitted to pay the proceeds of the sale of debentures to Eva Weddell and Lumsden Kent Ball. On the three charges of misappropriation of funds he was acquitted.
