Further counting in the State election merely confirmed the drift in favour of the Government in a few seats where a slight uncertainty existed. THE GOVERNMENT’S VICTORY EXPRESSION OF APPRECIATION (Per United Press Association* WELLINGTON, IVlar. 29. Appreciation of the fact that the people of New South Wales had returned the Stevens Government to power was expressed by the Rev. J. Bidwell, Anglican minister, of Summer Hill, Sydney, who was a passenger by the Wanganella to Auckland. He said there seemed to be no lack of money in Sydney and business was excellent. “ Thank goodness Lang was beaten; he nearly ruined us last time he was in power,” said Mr Bidwell.
