THE SHARE MARKET DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE - AUSTRALIAN MINING SCRIP SELLS CHEAPLY Anxious to effect sales, holders of Australian mining stocks made big concessions on the Dunedin Stock Exchange yesterday afternoon, and the transactions recorded in Commonwealth mining ventures were all at much reduced prices. The weakness in buying pressure appeared to spread to other sections of the market also, for there was a noticeable slackening in the demand for banks and industrials. Mount Lyells had three sales on ’Change, all at the reduced price of £1 Bs, and when the market closed they were on offer at that figure, but buyers would not go beyond £1 7s 6d. North Broken Hills, which have lost approximately 2s in value during the current week, slipped sharply to business after the last call-over at £2 7s 6d. The cautious attitude adopted by buyers of these share can be gauged from, the fact that, during the call, a buyer came on at £2 Is 9d—3d above the figure at which they were sold. Broken Hill Souths, with two sales at £J 10s 9d. completed the business in this Weak section. Banks were quiet, with sellers in the ascefidancy. and National Insurances firmed another Id. to finish with unsatisfied buyers at 17s 6d. Shipping shares were generally firm with recent levels, and the coal section was unchanged. Broken Hill Proprietaries lost further ground, to finish with a final market between £2 18s 6d and £2 19s 9d, but Sydney Woolworths recovered 3d to be wanted at £1 Is 6d. Dominion securities quoted were firm with recent rates, but again there was no zest in the demand for any issue. Dunedin Breweries were a shade firmer with a sale at £1 10s 9d, and more wanted at the same figure. YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS Sales on 'Change Afternoon Call
