BRADMAN IN TASMANIA FAST RATE OF SCORING i HOBART, Mar. 3. The Australian eleven began a second match against Tasmania today. Australia in the first innings has lost eight wickets for 516 (Brown 46, Fingleton 47, Badcock 159, Bradman 144, Barnes retired hurt 27, Chipperfield 42, Bennett 15, Waite 0, White not out 27, O'Reilly not out 3). Bradman figured in a sensational innings and delighted the crowd with his free batting. In a score of 144 made in 98 minutes, he hit 19 4's and three 6's. In one over off James he hit six 4's, and from four consecutive ball from Putman he hit three 6's and one 4. With Badcock he carried the score from 110 to 352 in 98 minutes. Badcock gave a dashing display for 159, scored in 186 minutes. FIRST INNINGS TOTAL 520 HOBART, Mar. 4. (Received Mar. 5, at 1 a.m.) The Australian eleven in the first innings scored 520. Putnam took four wickets for 155. Tasmania in the first innings scored 194 (Putnam 40, E. Smith 37; O'Reilly five for 33, FleetwoodSmith three for 72).
