VICTORIOUS FAITH

This is a moment in world history when rejection of the revelation of God in Christ may seem more in the forefront of attention than the contrary affirmation (writes a correspondent in The Times). Christians must note it. but should not underline it. except in so far as it may turn their gaze more intensely from the facts of the modern world to that other Fact which challenges this world, even as it challenged the world of nineteen hundreds years ago. And just as then apostles and evangelists were sure of the divine glory that had come into the world with Jesus and had been manifested in His life, so to-day the Christian disciple and the Christian Church may share in that assurance. For the victory from which the Church can never be dispossessed by its enemies is the victory of its own faith.
