Friday, February 25 (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) I DRUNKENNESS Thomas Hector McLaughlan, a statutory first offender for drunkenness, was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within three months.—Sergeant Lean said that the defendant was seldom n Dunedin and had kep* out of trouble for 12 months.—The sentence was conditional upon the payment of 2s 6d cab hire. A woman aged 64, a first offender admitted a charge of drunkenness.— Sergeant Lean said that her husband died 12 months ago and she appeared to grieve a great deal. She had been on a drinking bout in ,the la?t few days.—The magistrate saxd he would not enter a conviction. The Charge was adjourned for 12 months. CASTING OFFENSIVE MATTER
